6th Grade Committees

During our 6th grade year we have committees which are jobs that we as 6th graders get to participate in and manage. The 6th graders will switch to a different committee every 6 weeks.  We will get to try many of the things listed below…

  • School Communication- updating the outside sign and stocking supplies in the copy rooms each week.
  • School Store- working to stock and run our School Store.
  • Community Outreach- finding ways to help others and making our school and community a better place to be.
  • Town Meeting/ Guest Speaker- setting agenda and moderating weekly town meeting/ collecting power points/ organizing celebrations.
  • 1st Grade Buddies- helping first graders in a variety of ways.
  • Finance- counting money, buying and selling snacks, and in spare time beautifying our hallway bulletin boards.
  • Recycling- recycling paper, cans and bottles though entire school in preparation for North Hampton Recycling Center.
  • 6th Grade Online- publishing our monthly news letter with all the latest happenings in 6th grade.
  • Recycling & Beyond- delivering recycling to the North Hampton Recycling Center; monitoring can/bottle recycling in the cafeteria; educating others; spreading the “three R’s” beyond the 6th grade.
  • Hydroponics 101-helping to set up and maintain the water systems in our 6th grade classes.

NC Challenge

On October 1st we started the 6th grade NC Challenge. The NC Challenge is what the 6th grade calls the NECAPs. This year we only have two NC Challenges, which are reading and math. We started with the reading test. We have finished all three sections of the reading and have now started the math test. We have just completed our second part of the math test. The 6th grade will be done this Thursday, October 15!
